Reagan proved that across-the-board tax cuts would increase economic activity, increase employment, increase the overall standard of living, and increase revenue to the federal government. Reagan’s tax cuts cured the great recession of Carter.
The left has ridiculed Reagan’s success with a deliberate smear campaign by calling it “trickle-down economics.” Like all liberal lies it subverts the truth. The simple fact is that “trickle-down” economics works, and even God uses it. It is called rain. It is the most effective and efficient way to water the whole earth. The trickle-down effect of rain blesses all. In the words of another proverb, “a rising tide lifts all boats.” Reagan proved that “trickle-down” economics is the most effective and efficient method of enriching the lives of every American.
However, this is exactly what liberals do not want. They despise the idea of everyone being blessed, especially the “rich.” Liberals claim they care for the poor, but actually they are promoting a philosophy that promises more poverty.
In other words, VOTE D… if you want DRIBBLE-DOWN POVERTY forever.
Winston Churchill said, “Socialism could only work in Heaven where it is not needed, or in Hell, where they already have it.” Margaret Thatcher said, “The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”
Twentieth century history proves this and demonstrates the failure of liberal socialism. Russia, China, and Cuba (once fairly rich countries) have suffered for decades under the effects of dribble-down poverty from socialist, Marxist promises to tax the rich.
By promoting class warfare (Marxism 101), the liberal promises to share the wealth of the filthy rich with all the struggling and downtrodden poor. The problem is that if you confiscated every last penny of the millionaires and billionaires, everyone would still be poor—in fact even poorer because now you have no rich person creating jobs—so poverty has increased, not decreased.
The total wealth of all millionaires and billionaires in America is about $13,200,000,000,000. Divide that into the 300,000,000 citizens in the United States, and every person will have about $44,000. That is far from being rich, even by Obama’s definition of $250,000. Once wealth is confiscated and divided, companies that hire millions of people (Wal-Mart, Microsoft, Dell etc.) would all disappear. Instead of jobs and prosperity, a nationwide depression worse than any in our history would begin. Is this really the goal of liberals?
What is their real goal? In a word, it is “control.” Liberals simply want to control everyone and everything in America. They do not want anyone so rich that they cannot control them—that is why they hate the rich. The only rich people they want are themselves. That is the naked truth. The promises of sharing the money of the filthy rich is an illusion held out to deceive voters to just give them “four more years.”
My friend Conservative Tom sent me an email that illustrates the point. The ten poorest cities in America have one thing in common. Can you guess? Many of them have never had a Republican mayor. The rest have not had a Republican mayor in decades. These mayors have been “taxing the rich” for decades, and the results is decades of dribble-down poverty. The real goal of liberals is more control over everyone, and poor people are a lot easier to control—so is a poor nation.
What is Obama’s real goal? His speech in Osawatomie, Kansas gave an insight into his liberal mind. It is classic Alinsky. He uses a seed of truth to set up a straw man. Then he tears down that straw man. Obama is the master of the straw man argument. What is a straw man argument? It is a fallacy in which an opponent's argument is overstated or misrepresented in order to be attacked or refuted.[i] It’s an outrageous lie wrapped in a believable lie.
The speech reveals a well thought out plan to deceive. I will examine only one example here, but I plan to deal with his whole speech in another article.
Obama said, “My grandparents served during World War II. He was a soldier in Patton’s army; she was a worker on a bomber assembly line…They believed in an America where hard work paid off, and responsibility was rewarded, and anyone could make it if he tried…” Now comes the straw man. “But for most Americans, the basic bargain that made this country great has eroded. Long before the recession hit, hard work stopped paying off for far too many people.” In other words, free enterprise is no longer working. So what does Obama propose? “I am here in Kansas to reaffirm my deep conviction that we’re greater together than we are on our own. I believe that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot…” This is very subtle at first, but it gets plainer as the speech progresses. “But as a nation, we’ve always come together, through our government, to help create conditions where both workers and businesses can succeed…” The plot thickens. “Our success has never just been about survival of the fittest. It’s about building a nation where we’re all better off…”[ii]
This is pure socialism. Everybody does better when the government controls everything. It is pure hogwash! Ask “everybody” in Communist China if the government made their lives better. Ask “everybody” in Communist Cuba if they got their fair share. “Everyone” in China or Cuba knows that if you VOTE D…you will get dribble-down poverty—where everyone is as poor as everyone else. The only rich, fat cats are not the evil businesses because none exist, but the party bosses who control everything and everyone.
Read the Communist Manifesto. Marx proposed a plan for destroying a capitalist nation, and the progressive tax was an important part of that plan. The purpose of a progressive income tax is to destroy capitalism and to gain control of the government and people.
Read ancient history. Every empire used heavy taxation to control the people that they had conquered. After Emperor Diocletian, the taxes on farmers doubled making it impossible for them to survive. These taxes led to the fall of the Roman Empire.[iii]
Obama admitted to Joe the Plumber that redistribution of wealth was the purpose of his presidency.[iv] He simply wants to spread the wealth around, which simply means that everyone is poorer—except the liberal Democrat President and Congress members who live like the filthy rich Czars.
In last night’s State of the Union address, Obama again promotes a plan for a “fair” tax on the rich. If 47% of the people pay no income taxes, is that fair?[v] When the top 10% pay 70% of the taxes, is that fair?[vi] Obama and liberals have an odd definition of fair. According to the liberal definition of fair, when a car breaks down, one person should push while the other nine get a free ride.
Ask the citizens of Russia, North Korea, China, or Cuba how they have enjoyed the free ride down the road to POVERTY POINT.
In fact, ask yourself: how have you been doing for the last three years? Are you better off or worse off? The Misery Index (unemployment rate + inflation rate) says Americans are worse off than three decades ago.[vii] The real inflation rate is over 20%.[viii] The real unemployment rate is above 17%.[ix] That is a real misery index of 37%. You have to go back to the Great Depression to find anything close. Now, how is your misery index feeling?
VOTE D…if you want DRIBBLE-DOWN POVERTY.
VOTE D…if you want DEPRESSION FOR DECADES.
VOTE D…if you want DEBT OUT THE WAZOO.
VOTE D…if you want DEATH BY A THOUSAND TAXES.
VOTE D…if you want TO TAX THE FILTHY RICH!
REMEMBER…if you have a job, YOU ARE RICH! And the liberal Democrats plan to tax you and tax you and tax you some more.
